Cheap flights from New York to Rome

Flying New York to Rome takes roughly eight and a half hours into Fiumicino, and the cheapest seat we see today is $181. That is a strong price for southern Europe, and it holds up because several carriers run the route year round rather than only in summer.

Weather and price pull in opposite directions here. November to March is cheapest, but Rome in January is cold and grey. The sweet spot is April and October: mild days, thinner crowds at the Colosseum and Vatican, and fares still well below the July and August peak. Avoid deep summer if you can, when the heat tops 35C and much of the city runs on tourist rhythms.
