Cheap flights from New York to Barcelona

July 12, 2026

New York to Barcelona runs about eight hours, and the cheapest fare we track today is $214. Level, United and a handful of others keep the route competitive, so it is one of the more affordable ways into the Mediterranean from the East Coast.

Barcelona rewards shoulder-season travel more than most cities. November through March is cheapest on airfare, but the real sweet spot is May and September: warm enough for the beach, past the worst of the summer crush on Las Ramblas, and fares still reasonable. August is hot, packed and expensive, and a lot of locals leave town.

The airport connects to the center by train and metro in about half an hour. Once you are there, Madrid is a quick onward flight or a two-and-a-half-hour train, and Lisbon is a cheap hop west. Start with the Barcelona city guide, then look at Madrid if you want to see two Spanish cities.
